Carpe Diem: Just my thoughts

Hi everyone! I’m finally back after taking a break from my personal blog for the summer. These past few months have been full of changes and growth for me and I got to grow a lot of a writer/ journalist by focusing my energy into improving my writing, creating better content, and writing some exciting beauty content for Teen Vogue digital. I’m happy to finally be doing what I love and have worked towards in my entire university career leading up to what is now my fourth and final year. Studying journalism has taught me so much and I’ve gained many valuable skills from the various courses I’ve taken over the years, everything from photojournalism to feature writing.

I’ve also done all this with a set goal in mind which is becoming a Fashion and beauty journalist. It’s the field I’ve wanted to be in since middle school and even now there is nothing more exciting to me than combining my interests with writing and working in fashion and beauty editorial departments as a magazine journalist. I’m also happy that I’ve found my journalism beat which is modest fashion and beauty.

It’s a small and underrepresented area and I’ve love to give that a voice through my writing. It’s a big part of who I am and everything that’s shaped me to become the person I am today. Modest fashion is finally gaining recognition this year and I want that movement to continue growing since it’s something that’s always become close to my heart. It made me realize that fashion doesn’t meaning sacrificing my faith or modesty and that it can be combined, which is what makes it so unique and special to me.

I can’t wait to continue growing and learning even after I finish school this May and I’m also excited to finally emerge in the journalism industry with my unique perspectives on fashion and beauty and bring my own skill set that I’ve been honing all these years. Carpe Diem means to seize the day and to me that’s making the best of what I’ve got without fearing about the future and embracing it with excitement instead.

I wanted to share this important and exciting part of my life with all you lovely readers as I take on my final year at university. Thank you for always supporting me and I hope you guys enjoyed reading this personal post.
